Wellness Policy

To help us provide a safe and clean environment, and for the protection of kids and families, we ask that a child be kept at home if they have:
– a fever above 99 degrees or if they feel warm to your touch
– vomiting
– diarrhea
– sore throat
– green or yellow drainage from the eyes
– clear or colored (green/yellow) running nose
– cough
– contagious or unexplained rash
– any contagious illness or infectious disease

Because of the close proximity of families, if one child in a household has a contagious illness we request that all children in the family stay home.

Children taking an antibiotic should have received treatment for at least 24 hours, as well as be symptom free for 24hrs, before coming into a classroom.

Nursery, preschool, children or youth ministry workers who have contagious illnesses OR potentially contagious illnesses should refrain from ministry work for 24 hours after last symptom.

If an illness is discovered after a child has been in a classroom, they will immediately be separated from their group and loved and cared for while a member of our staff contacts you.

Notes for Parents

For safety, each child must have a safety sticker on his / her back at time of drop-off. You will need the stub (or ID number) portion to show to a nursery volunteer when it is time to pick up your child. ONLY ADULTS MAY PICK UP CHILDREN FROM THE NURSERY.

We will notify you if your child cries longer than 10 minutes. We would like to try longer to comfort your child, with your permission.

We strive to maintain a safe volunteer-to-child ratio. There will be a minimum of two workers in each room at all times.

Please label all bags, cups, and bottles that belong to your child. Pacifiers must be attached to your child with a clip.

In consideration of our volunteers, only disposable diapers are allowed.
